The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the 13 inductees for the Class of 2024, who will be honored during the Enshrinement festivities on August 16-17. The Class Announcement took place in Glendale, Arizona, coinciding with the 2024 NCAA Men’s Final Four, and was broadcast live on ESPN2.

Here are the inductees for the Naismith Basketball Hall Of Fame Class Of 2024:

North American Committee (in alphabetical order): Chauncey Billups, Vince Carter, Michael Cooper, Walter Davis, Bo Ryan, Charles Smith

Women’s Committee: Seimone Augustus

Men’s Veteran Committee: Dick Barnett

Women’s Veteran Committee: Harley Redin

International Committee: Michele Timms

Contributors Committee: Doug Collins, Herb Simon, Jerry West

The Class of 2024 will be formally inducted during ceremonies held in Springfield, Massachusetts, the Birthplace of Basketball, as well as at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, on August 16-17. North American Committee Inductees

CHAUNCEY BILLUPS [Player] – Known as “Mr. Big Shot” for his clutch performances, Billups was a five-time NBA All-Star and earned the 2004 Finals MVP leading the Detroit Pistons to their third NBA championship. Over his 17-year career, he averaged 15.2 points and 5.4 assists per game and boasts a 89.4 free throw percentage, ranking sixth best in NBA/ABA history. Billups, drafted third overall in 1997 by the Boston Celtics, is currently the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers.

VINCE CARTER [Player] – Celebrated for his spectacular dunks, Carter, an eight-time All-Star, played 22 NBA seasons (1998-2020). He won the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest, earned the 1998-99 Rookie of the Year, and is the sole player in NBA history to compete in four different decades. Carter holds the single-season franchise scoring record for both the New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets and the Toronto Raptors.

MICHAEL COOPER [Player] – Cooper, renowned for his defensive prowess, was named to eight NBA All-Defensive Teams and won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 1987. Spending his entire 12-year NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, he secured five championships and later coached in the WNBA, winning back-to-back titles with the Los Angeles Sparks.

WALTER DAVIS [Player] – Davis, the Phoenix Suns’ all-time leading scorer, earned six All-Star selections during his 15-year NBA career. He was named the 1978 Rookie of the Year and had his No. 6 retired by the Suns.

BO RYAN [Coach] – With an impressive record spanning 32 seasons, Ryan achieved remarkable success at the collegiate level, notably with the University of Wisconsin, leading them to consecutive Final Four appearances in 2014-15.

CHARLES SMITH [Coach] – Smith, Louisiana’s winningest high school coach, garnered national recognition for his coaching achievements at Peabody Magnet High School.

Women’s Committee Inductee

SEIMONE AUGUSTUS [Player] – Augustus, a four-time WNBA champion and eight-time All-Star, was instrumental in the success of the Minnesota Lynx, winning the 2011 Finals MVP.

Men’s Veteran Committee Inductee

DICK BARNETT [Player] – Barnett, a standout player at Tennessee A&I University, had a successful NBA career, winning two championships with the New York Knicks.

Women’s Veteran Committee Inductee

HARLEY REDIN [Coach] – Redin, a highly accomplished coach at Wayland Baptist, led the team to multiple AAU National Championships and had significant contributions to women’s basketball.

International Committee Inductee

MICHELE TIMMS [Player] – A pioneering figure in Australian women’s basketball, Timms achieved success both internationally and in the WNBA.

Contributor Committee Inductees

DOUG COLLINS – Collins, known for his versatility in various roles within basketball, notably as a player, coach, and broadcaster, left a significant impact on the sport.

HERB SIMON – Simon, the long-serving owner of the Indiana Pacers, played a pivotal role in shaping the franchise’s success both on and off the court.

JERRY WEST – Recognized as both a player and executive, West’s contributions to the Los Angeles Lakers and the NBA as a whole have solidified his legacy in basketball history.
